We envision:
- A continuously evolving choral canon that is representative of diverse voices
- Cantate as an artistic resource for the community and our members
- Cantate as Montgomery County’s premier choral organization
- Choral experiences that are accessible to the full diversity of the community, recognizing its differing backgrounds and goals.
Values
We believe that:
- Choral music has the power to transport, challenge, and transform performers, audiences, and communities
- Music allows us to envision and live into a better world
- Artistic excellence should be at the forefront of everything we do
- Music organizations must educate the public on the value of the arts
- Art should be accessible to and representative of all of humanity
- We have a responsibility to provide opportunities for the next generation of artists
- Great art continues to be created; we are not a museum of the past
- Community and art exist in reciprocal relationship; one cannot exist without the other
Strategic Goals: Deepen, Broaden, Diversify
1. Increase Community Engagement
- Develop organizational presence upcounty and eastcounty
- Realize artistic and interdisciplinary parternships and collaborations
- Deepen, broaden, and diversify our audience, donor, and volunteer bases
- Expand educational outreach
2. Improve Organizational Excellence
- Strengthen organizational capacity to manage programs more effectively
- Expand and diversify funding sources including grant opportunities
- Support Singers’ growth as artists in order to attract and retain high-quality singers of diverse backgrounds
- Formalize board operations and provide opportunities for board training and expansion
- Re-engage Advisory Board
3. Expand Media and Marketing Reach
- Redesign Website
- Improve communications around programming
- Explore new marketing opportunities
